The Zentangle Method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns with only 5 strokes, one stroke at a time. Anyone can use Zentangle to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over the world, across a wide range of skills and interest.

For silk painters, the simplicity of creating patterns/tangles lends itself to creating beautiful, repetitive designs on Silk by using a variety of methods such as wax, markers, resist and stamps.

After years of creating a home and a career as a teacher, Joanna concluded there was a creative being ready to burst out of her. The practice of meditation is crucial to Joanna's artistic process because in the stillness and silence, she receivesd impressions of color and nature themes. Meditation directed her to explore many mediums before settling on fiber art. An interest in fiber art led her to painting on silk. The spontaneity and easy manipulation of the dyes on silk was captivating and inspiring. The magic had begun!

Joanna has taught at High Point University, Sawtooth School for Visual Arts, as well as many local libraries and in her home studio.
