Home is where the (he)art is whether in your back yard or local neighborhood streets, the red bricks of a tenement building, the colorful signage of a corner store or children playing in the park. Using non-traditional silk painting materials, students will take location photos and work directly from their tablets or phones in order to free up their techniques just a bit. Students may also bring photos from home if they prefer. This workshop is based on PJ's "New York Neighborhoods" series.

PJ Cobbs is a dynamic silk artist from New York City. She has teaching experience at the Textile Art Center in Brooklyn, NY, Newark Museum, New York Public Library, Art School of Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii and Hiui No'eau Visual Arts Center Maui, Hawaii.
