Learn how to step away from "tube" colors and express yourself with an endless palette created from three basic colors. Gain confidence and become more comfortable with your color blends and combinations. With practice, color choices become more intuitive and you'll develop a personal color sense to communicate your vision. In this workshop we will be doing exercises in color mixing, creating color charts and applying the lessons in several painting studies. We will compare color schemes and explore the relationship between colors and how color mixing creates a more cohesive painting.

Cheri Reckers earned her BFA with honors from the Columbus College of Art & Design and has been a professional silk painter for over 28 years. Her award winning silk paintings and wearable art have been exhibited nationally and internationally and have appeared in numerous publications. Cheri has been honored with the Master Silk Painter designation from SPIN, Silk Painters International. Cheri's silk paintings are often inspired by the elements of nature. Her most recent work focuses on her fascination with the seasonal rhythms and colorful textural patterns of plants, animals and wide luminescent skies of the Sonoran desert surrounding her home in the San Tan Mountains.
