Advanced Painting on Silk

 With Suzanne Punch

Advanced techniques to give more depth and complexity to your paintings. Participants are invited to bring previously steamed work that still needs something more. Layering of imagery, over-painting, discharge and stenciling are all ways to bring new life to a painting. Be prepared to see your work in a new light and extend its potential. Full instruction, technical support and encouragement will be provided.

Suzanne has been pushing the boundaries of this ancient medium since 1984 and bringing fine art sensibility to the interaction of dyes and resist on silk. She has opened up new possibilities of painterly expression. She has taught extensively across the U.S. and is currently on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.

Suzanne has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art and has exhibited her art across the U.S. and in England and Japan. In 2009 Suzanne was awarded the lifetime designation of Master Silk Painter by SPIN, Silk Painters International.
