Fast, fun, and beautiful.  This is a three-hour mini workshop to teach you how to use a microwave to set your silk dyes. In a matter of minutes you will have artistic, ready to wear silk scarves. This method can be used for all your silk wearables and accessories. 

Mitzi grew up on a small island in the Chesapeake Bay, which was an idyllic childhood. Mitzi now resides in Ocean Pines, Maryland, recognized for her large-scale organic paintings that suggest the natural world, she likes the challenges posed by new subjects, styles and ideas, often moving outside her comfort zone...this is how she explores on her microwave dyeing techniques.

Mitzi's art is currently displayed in Ocean City, Berlin, Crisfield and Annapolis, MD. Most recently her art "Here Comes the Sun" was accepted to the Art in Treasured Spaces Exhibition, hosted by the Maryland State Arts Council in collaboration with the Maryland State Office of Comptroller and will be displayed until June 7, 2024.

bring to workshop                          

  • two 12 mm crepe di chine or silk satin scarves any size
  • disposable gloves
  • scissors
