October Meeting.

The group met for the first time at Diane Tuckman’s home. Present were Diane Tuckman ,Nadia Azumi, Terry Tabor and Liani Foster.

The first meeting was to meet the members, and plan for the 2010 programs. New members shared some of their techniques as well as the artwork that they bought along. We also discussed the Greenbelt show and how we were going to unpack and pack the items when the time came. Nadia encouraged members to look for locations to exhibit in the New year 2010.

Nadia contacted the Strathmore art center and approached them for an exhibit .Opening are in the later part of 2010 to 2011.She will contact and meet them after the Holiday Season is over.

November Meeting.

The November meeting was held at Liani foster’s residence in Washington D.C. Present; Diame Tuckman, Roubi from Russia, Nadia Azumi Liani Foster.

"Access your inner artistic child to learn the basic gestures of line and form. Acquire confidence to learn how to express yourself and learn the basics of drawing." This was the workshop that was held at Liani’s residence. Potluck lunch with wine was served.

December Meeting.

Due to the Holiday Season the Chapter decided to cancel the December Meeting.

January  2010 meeting.

Here is the information of the last SPIN meeting held at our house here in Rockville on the 16 th of January 2010. I am the one in the grey sweater.

An International group assisted the lecture and demonstration of kimonos at Nadia Azumi’s residence; SPIN President for Va, D.C. ,Md.

Present were members from different countries.

US, Italy, France, Australia, Russia.

The lecture was based on how, where, when and why certain kimonos are used. For different occasions, different seasons. Designs have also meaning. Nadia also shared the Obis or sashes used to hold the kimonos as well as the Uchikakes or Royal Robes.

Dinner was then served and the next meeting was set up for February. Further details will be sent.
