The golden couch marked the crossroads to the 2008 International Silk Painting Festival. It meant that you were halfway there.

One day, on the way to the Silk in Santa Fe location, 2010, up the mountain, I followed a pick up truck carrying two very ugly yellow couches. As we reached the crossroads leading to the right is a dirt road. The truck hesitated and moved in that direction. I went on to the SPIN location. On my way back, later in the day, I saw that the couches had actually been dumped there. It became a rallying point for several members. We took pictures, someone had stopped and had a few beers so we used those as props and had a great time. Then they mysteriously disappeared, one by one! The person in the picture is me, relaxing...
