The golden couch marked the crossroads to the 2008 International Silk Painting Festival. It meant that you were halfway there.
| One day, on the way to the Silk in Santa Fe location, 2010, up the mountain, I followed a pick up truck carrying two very ugly yellow couches. As we reached the crossroads leading to the right is a dirt road. The truck hesitated and moved in that direction. I went on to the SPIN location. On my way back, later in the day, I saw that the couches had actually been dumped there. It became a rallying point for several members. We took pictures, someone had stopped and had a few beers so we used those as props and had a great time. Then they mysteriously disappeared, one by one! The person in the picture is me, relaxing...
