SPIN in collaboration with the Art League of Ocean City, Center for the Arts, Ocean City, Maryland is offering our members an opportunity to exhibit their silk artwork for the month of April 2017. This beautiful gallery is an excellent venue for SPIN artists to display their talents and expand the influence of silk art in this area. Submission Guidelines:
Open to SPIN members only. To join SPIN go to SPIN Membership
Size: Maximum outside dimensions may not exceed 32” x 40”
Materials: Artwork must be at least 80% silk.
Entry Fee: $10 per painting (two maximum)
Deadline:
February 1, 1917

We don’t limit the subject matter but we do retain the right to refuse any artwork that might be deemed offensive, inappropriate, or structurally unsound for the venue. Your works of art should have been made within the last two years.
Photographing Entries:
Photos should be of good quality 300 DPI or higher. How well you present your work in the submission process will help determine your acceptance into the exhibit.
Sales:
You may choose to offer your work for sale. SPIN does not make pricing recommendations. The sales commission is 35% (The Gallery 25% SPIN 10%.)
Selection Committee:
Artwork will be chosen for inclusion in the exhibit by a committee of three SPIN members.
People’s Choice Award:
There will be a People’s Choice Award with a $100 prize.

March 20-March 31 Artwork must be received
Installation Specifications:
All work must arrive installation ready. All artwork must be appropriately framed or gallery wrapped and wired for hanging. No sawtooth hangers. Maximum weight of artwork is 20 lbs. Please attach a business size card to the back of your artwork with your name, the title, medium, and price of the artwork. All shipping containers must fit through an 80” high x 41” wide door.
Insurance:
The gallery and hanging committee will handle all artwork with utmost care; however, the Art League of Ocean City, Center for the Arts is not responsible, at any time, for loss or damage to entries no matter what the cause. The artist is responsible for insuring the artwork during shipping and delivery.
Shipping:
Shipping to and from Mitzi Ash, Exhibit Coordinator and SPIN member will be the responsibility of the artist. (The address will be supplied when your work is accepted.) A return shipping label must be included with the work upon its arrival. Artworks must be securely packed in reusable containers with reusable packing materials. We prefer that all framed works use Plexiglas. Any artworks incorporating breakable elements should be double boxed and/or shipped in wooden crates. Please include any packing, shipping and/or installation instructions needed for the safe handling and return of your work.
