Brand new SPIN website launched today.

Who is SPIN?

Why does SPIN exist?

We constantly heard that silk painters world-wide felt isolated and disconnected from their peers.

"I am the only silk painter in my town, country, etc."

Not so! There are quite a few of us out there, just waiting to meet and network, so we formed a non-profit 501 (c) 3 association.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE: Nostalgia, Liena Dieck, Broad Brook, CT

We started publishing "The Silkworm", a networking newsletter, in the early 1990s as a concept to serve all segments of the silk painting community - beginners, painters, professionals, instructors and suppliers.

We now organise the bi-annual [every 2 years] International Silk Painting Festival to give silk painters around the world an opportunity to meet and to achieve our goals.

What is our goal?

To establish silk painting as a recognized art form by encouraging and promoting the collecting, displaying, and production of silk art at the highest level. SPIN supports eclectic artistic expression.

SPIN is focused on:
  • validating and promoting the art of silk painting so it will be recognized as a true art form within the artistic community and the public in general

  • enhancing silk painting through education to all segments of the population, including the international arena.

  • informing artists, professionals and the public as to past, current and future trends and directions for the art form.

Join us today by becoming a Member of SPIN - we look forward to learning from each other and helping the silk painting art form to be recognized worldwide.
