If there are any creases, do the following: cover your iron board with a double layer of old white cloth. Spread out your silk. Spray the creased area with a mixture of 50/50 white vinegar and water and press over the creases. Do not run the iron back and forth; press and hold for three or four seconds then move the iron. Prepare a basin with warm water and a small amount (tablespoon) of synthrapol. Rinse with COLD water until most of the excess dye is removed then place the silk into the basin of warm water. More color will be removed, possibly. Back into cold, then into the warm water. Usually, this only needs to be done two or three times. Final rinse in cold with a 1/4 cup of white vinegar, if you wish. I no longer do this, as I’ve never seen it make much of a difference. I then put my damp pieces into the dryer set on delicate with an old thick bath towel and toss for 5 minutes or so. Remove and iron with a hot steam iron.
